My Why

I’m running because public education is the foundation of our democracy—and because I’ve spent my life inside our public schools. For 35 years, I’ve been an educator, working alongside students, families, and colleagues, and I’ve seen firsthand what happens when schools are supported—and what happens when they are not.

Every day in our classrooms is urgent. Education is about building connection, skills, and knowledge, and that work deserves focus, trust, and care. Education is a precious public resource, and it must be protected and strengthened for every child.

Our district needs leadership willing to tackle the systemic issues that distract schools from the core work of teaching and learning. We need accountability so that funding and resources reach classrooms, not bureaucracy. And we need leaders who truly listen to educators and school staff—the professionals who know what students need and how district policies impact schools in real life.

I’ve spent decades advocating for students and educators, and I’m ready to bring that experience to the school board. If you believe in strong public schools, thoughtful leadership, and putting students first, I ask for your support.
